After qualifying as an Occupational Therapist, I worked with a variety of customer groups including working age adults and older adults within the area of acute mental health. As an Occupational Therapist, I take a holistic approach to both mental and physical wellbeing, with an emphasis on promoting independence, and enabling and empowering individuals to achieve their full potential, whilst respecting their values, dignity and freedom of choice at all times.

I am passionate about delivering the highest standards of professional domiciliary care to the vibrant community of Brighton and Hove, enabling individuals who choose to remain living independently in their own homes.

I started with a degree in psychology which led to a career looking after children with learning difficulties and severe autism. This then progressed to working for many years with people in their older years with mental health issues particularly specialising in supporting people who had dementia as well as supporting and advising their families. There were lots of facets to the job but I thrived in helping them to remain at home when they so wished by assessing their personal needs and arranging for suitable support to be put in place to enable that to happen.

I am passionate about seeing people who wish to be cared for, and supported to continue to live in their own homes, are enabled to do so with competent caring staff who are able to ensure that everyone is looked after as an individual.
Caremark as a company ensures that those people who wish to stay in their own homes get to do this by being looked after by caring, competent, well trained staff and I am proud one of the managing directors of this company.

Phil Deuk

Care Manager

Phil is a very experienced manager with a wealth of knowledge, skills and practice. He has managed various teams within the council; including community, residential and supported living services as well as more recently working in third sector services. He brings a vast array of experience, training and practical application to this role.

As a result of his 25 years within the care sector he has developed a holistic approach to supporting customers in order to elicit the best outcomes for them.

He is dedicated to bringing the best out of his staff in order to ensure that our customers receive the highest possible standard of care; but also to promote the idea of career development in dedicated staff.

Phil is really excited to have joined the award-winning Caremark network, as well as being given the opportunity to lead a progressive and dynamic team in delivering excellent care and support to our customers.

Field Care Supervisor

A field care supervisors role ensures that the standard of care delivered is of the highest quality and they also ensures that the team is well supported and working in a cohesive manner. They works alongside care assistants to make sure they are working well and support them with any training needs they may have. They are also the first port of call for customers wishing to make changes to their care package or to have a review.

Care Co-ordinator

The Care Coordinator role is a pivotal one in the company, taking charge of all admin and ensuring the roster for customers runs smoothly. Tara will often be the first person that you speak to when you phone in, dealing with customers and care assistants directly. She is the friendly voice on the phone and the person who deals with the emails. Tara coordinates the needs of customers and care assistants alike ensuring that you get your choices and needs met wherever possible.

Recruitment & Compliance Co-ordinator

A Recruitment and Compliance Coordinator in a home care service is responsible for hiring qualified caregivers while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. They manage the recruitment process, including advertising roles, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and overseeing pre-employment checks such as DBS verification and reference collection. They also ensure that all staff complete necessary training and maintain up-to-date certifications in line with CQC (Care Quality Commission) and other regulatory requirements. Additionally, they monitor compliance by conducting audits, updating policies, and addressing any regulatory concerns. Beyond recruitment, they support workforce planning, employee retention, and ongoing staff development, ensuring that the home care service operates with a well-trained and fully compliant team.

Chris may also be the first person you speak to when you phone the office and he is well equipped to deal with your issue or to direct you to the right person.

Senior Care Assistant

Christian has progressed from care assistant to senior care assistant.  He comes to us with a wealth of experience  in caring for older people and is a valuable asset to the team.  A seniors role is to support the staff out in the field, to conduct spot checks, compliance and quality assurance checks.  To support with training and induction of new staff.

Abi has progressed from working with us as a care assistant into the role of senior.  She has come with a wealth of experience and a qualification in midwifery.  She is a valuable member of our team.  A seniors role is to support the staff out in the field, to conduct spot checks, compliance and quality assurance checks.  To support with training and induction of new staff.
