Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury Celebrates Success at Annual Caremark Awards Ceremony
Mike and Jo Folkes recently attended the prestigious Caremark Awards Ceremony.
This annual event is a celebration of excellence, which recognises and honours the outstanding achievements within the Caremark franchise network. By handing out 14 prestigious awards, the ceremony highlights the dedication, and commitment of the Caremark offices. Focusing on those that consistently push the boundaries of excellence.
Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury was honoured to be named as one of three finalists for two awards. The two awards were the Regional Award and the Community Engagement Award. Whilst we did not secure the Regional Award, we were thrilled to win the Community Engagement Award. This award acknowledges a Caremark office that has made significant efforts to engage with its local community.
Why Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury won the Community Engagement Award
At Caremark Cheltenham & Tewkesbury, we strongly believe in fostering connections within our local community. To help combat loneliness, we have introduced monthly free coffee mornings. These provide a welcoming space for individuals to meet, socialise, and find support.
To help others understand the importance of maintaining an active and independent lifestyle, we have launched adult chair-based exercise classes. These are led by our Care Manager, Jo Folkes, a registered physiotherapist. These run alongside our coffee mornings. Thus ensuring that older adults have the opportunity to stay active in a safe and supportive environment.
In addition to these initiatives, we are actively collaborating with the Gloucestershire Women’s Institute Federation to deliver informative talks on the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle in later life. Our commitment to community outreach also extends to working with local charities, including Age UK. We not only support member social groups, attend local job fairs in Gloucester and Cheltenham, but also participate in major community events such as the annual Stroud Show.
During the festive season, we further strengthened our community ties by organising a special Christmas coffee morning. At which we had carol singing and mince pies, to bring joy and companionship to local residents.
Winning the Community Engagement Award is a testament to our ongoing dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those we support. We are incredibly proud of our team. We are also grateful to our community partners for helping us create meaningful initiatives that make a difference.
Finally, as we move forward, we remain committed to expanding our community engagement efforts. Also, fostering new connections, and continuing to enhance the well-being of our local community.
