Quality management

With a background in quality management, followed by over 15 years working in care, we couldn’t have chosen anyone better to run our new office covering Bassetlaw and West Lindsey than Shaun Loughlin.
As Care Coordinator, Shaun will oversee the team delivering care in this part of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, as well as building relationships with key referrers and other local stakeholders.
Quality is Shaun’s buzzword, having spent a large bulk of his career working in quality management and everything associated with that, such as auditing and health and safety.
He entered care in 2009 after a redundancy prompted him to look at new career opportunities.
“I come from a family of nurses so I thought care could be for me and I was right. Since then, I have worked in residential and domiciliary care, complex care and supported living, so I have done it all really.
“The two jobs I have done very much compliment each other because we are in a highly regulated sector so that means quality and training is key.
“Coming to a new office and area also appealed to me as it means I can put my own stamp on the role and it’s effectively a blank canvas.
“We’ve all got parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters that might need care and I am very passionate about this happening in people’s own homes, after all this is where they have always lived.
“Being in your own community means everybody knows you, your friends can knock on your door and come for a cup of tea with you, you’re comfortable and relaxed.
There’s a reason for the saying your home is your castle!”
Outside of work, father-of-two Shaun enjoys indulging in his big passion – Rugby League.
“I’m just training to be a coach at the moment and I have been working with people with learning disabilities which is brilliant because another passion for me is seeing people with disabilities come and get involved,” he says.
