The Rotary Club of Deal Comedy Night

Caremark Dover is a community engaged organisation.

Last night (5 October) Caremark Dover sponsored the first Rotary Club of Deal Comedy Night at the Angling Club in Deal. What an amazing success. Our performers were excellent – three of whom were Rotarians making their stand up debuts. We raised not far short of £700, which will go to the Rotary Club of Deal and be used for the benefit of the people of Deal.

Each act was very different. We had monologues, pithy one-liners, observational humour and physical comedy. The audience played its part too. The comedians were given a warm reception which was appreciated especially by our stand up debutants. This was grassroots comedy at its best. It is at events like this where unknown comedians develop their craft. Perhaps, just perhaps last night we may have witnessed a rising comedic star.

The Rotary Club of Deal is part of the international organization of Rotary Clubs. It was established in 1923 and over the years it has contributed enormously to its community. Rotarians come from many walks of life and are united by their desire to serve their communities.

Caremark Dover is proud to be associated with the Rotary Club of Deal. Caremark Dover’s focus on community engagement marries up with the Rotary ideal of service and our comedy night initiative is a perfect example how the two organizations can work together to benefit the Town of Deal.

The success of tonight’s caremark Dover sponsored Comedy night strongly suggests that this might become an annual event.
