Preet triumphed over a pool of more than 5,000 care assistants nationwide, impressing the judges with her unwavering dedication and remarkable impact on the lives of those she cares for.

• A Life Saved: During a routine visit to a customer with hypertension, Preet recognised the signs of a stroke and swiftly called emergency services. Her prompt and detailed actions were credited by doctors as life-saving. The grateful customer expressed, “Preet didn’t just care for me – she saved my life.”
• Compassionate End-of-Life Care: Preet formed a strong bond with a customer in the final stages of life, learning key Welsh phrases to communicate and provide comfort. Her devotion and extra efforts to ensure the best care left a lasting impression on the family, who shared, “Preet’s care was beyond anything we could have hoped for. She brought a calm and compassionate presence into our home.”
• Building Trust: A customer with vascular dementia initially refused care, but Preet’s patience and gentle persistence ultimately gained the customer’s trust. The customer’s daughter spoke of Preet’s transformative impact: “Preet completely changed things for my mum. Before she arrived, my mother wouldn’t let anyone into the house. Now they sing and dance together. I never imagined that would be possible.”
