We’re ‘CHUFFED’ to hear from Local Artist, Pete McKee!
Earlier this year, our managing director Mark took part in a 100 mile bike ride, raising funds for Sheffield Hospitals Charity and the Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Mark was able to raise close to £1000 in funding for the two local organisations- these funds were equally split, and we hope it made a huge difference!
We were super excited to send them the cash we raised, but we were absolutely chuffed to receive a Thank You back! Earlier this week, we received a letter from Pete McKee who took the time to thank us for our support, along with a brilliant piece of art in tribute to the NHS staff titled ‘The Handover’. In his letter, Pete talks about his personal experience with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, and the care he received from NHS staff during his time at the Northern General. He shares:
“What got me through it all was the staff. From the surgeons to the cleaners, everyone was just so dedicated, compassionate and professional.”
We, like others, are inspired by the work of NHS staff, because we understand the impact that can be made through quality care and support.
It’s generally only in times of crisis that we come into contact with these services who like ours provide incredible support to people who are vulnerable and in real need. Just like the NHS staff, our highly trained and professional Support Workers go the extra mile every day to provide our clients with first class care, which allows them to live their life to the absolute fullest!
We were excited to be able to support both organisations, but the Sheffield Children’s Hospital is especially valued by us. Many of the Children and Young People we support rely heavily on the Children’s Hospital. As they return home from their time in the Children’s hospital our team provide their clinical and complex support within their own home, within the community.
It was great to hear from Pete McKee, and his letter really highlights how important our NHS is, as well as great care in the community. We are happy to have supported such a meaningful cause and would like to take this opportunity to thank both the Sheffield Hospitals Charity and the Children’s Hospital for everything they do. Not to forget our great staff- we are proud to have them on our team!
