Adult Home Care in Thanet and Canterbury
Few of us want to leave our homes.
Our homes are important to us. They are an expression of our personalities, and we are very much a part of them. Our homes are where we are comfortable; they contain our memories; they are our sanctuaries of calm in a chaotic world.
We may have lived in our home for years – decades, even. Our homes may have their imperfections, but they are imperfections that make our homes homely – like the handle on the kitchen door that’s a little stiff. We love the little things that make our homes distinctive: the way the rain hits the living room windows, and the way the sun comes through the bedroom window to welcome the morning.
The aim of home care is to help you remain in your home for as long as you want. The purpose of home care is not to take over your life, but to help you to continue to live your life in the home you love.

Your Needs
We are all different and this is most certainly the case when we are talking about home care. Providing care in your home is a partnership. We want you to be an active participant in your care. This is important because as your needs change, the care we provide may change too.
When we first meet you, we will carry out an assessment of your needs. At this meeting we would encourage you to invite anyone else who is involved in your care. The aim of the meeting is to find out what your care needs are. The more information you can give us the easier it is to plan your care.
Nothing is set in stone. A care plan should be viewed as a living document that changes as your needs change. We will schedule in regular reviews with you. However, you don’t need to wait for a scheduled review to make changes. You can do this whenever you like.
Our Services
We provide a full range of domiciliary care services, including, but not limited to, personal care, medication support, domestic help, trips out and companionship.
The shortest call we provide is 30 minutes. We are happy to provide you with calls from one call a week upwards.
We also provide night care, live-in care and 24-hour care. The difference between live-in care and 24-hour care is that with the latter service care assistants are providing care for you constantly each hour of the day. With live-in care, a care assistant provides care during the day (typically for up to 9 hours) but must be allowed to sleep during the night unless there is an emergency.
We can also provide care to meet more complex needs. For example, where your mobility is poor, and you use a hoist or where you have a PEG tube fitted (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastronomy tubes are fitted into the abdominal wall where you cannot consume food orally).
Please ask about the specialist services we can provide.

Continuity of Care
For most people, continuity of care is important. We fully appreciate that you want to know who is coming to your home to provide your care and when they are coming to your home to provide your care.
We will provide you with a small team of carer assistants who are responsible for providing your care. You will have your main care assistants and those who will substitute for them. It is important that you know that when your regular care assistants are not available, for example due to holidays, the people who replace them will be known to you.
It goes without saying that if you feel comfortable and emotionally secure with the care that is being provided to you, those closest to you will feel the same.
