Palliative Home Care
Palliative care focuses on relieving the symptoms, pain and stress of serious illness. The aim is to improve your quality of life.
Palliative care is not necessarily end of life care. It is suitable for you whatever stage of your illness and where you are undergoing curative treatment.
If you are receiving palliative care, we can provide you with the full range of domiciliary care services, including personal care, medication support, domestic help and companionship.

End of Life Care
You have an absolute right to choose where you live the final months of your life. If you choose to remain at home, our role is to provide you, and those close to you (where possible), with the care and support that are needed.
We will do all we can to ensure that the services that we provide to you respect, protect and promote your human dignity. To that end, we will involve you fully in planning and delivering your care. We understand that you may want others who are close to you to be involved in your care. With your permission, we will work with those you choose to be involved.
Our aim is to provide a service that fully meets your needs; that gives you comfort in knowing that those you love are involved in your care in the way you have chosen; and offers support to the important people in your life who are supporting you.
Funding Through NHS Continuing Care
Funding for you care may be available through the NHS. To qualify for NHS Continuing Care Funding you must be assessed as having a ‘primary health need.’ If you qualify, there is no means test. More information is contained in this article.
It is also worth looking at the NHS website.
A very useful website with a wealth of information is Care To Be Different. This is a particularly useful source of information if your application for funding has been turned down.
If you receive NHS Continuing Care funding, you still have a right to choose you care provider.

Your Affairs
We work with a number of people and organisations who can help you put your affairs in order. Some of the more important things to consider are:
Ensuring you have a will in place.
Ensuring you have appointed a person(s) to act as your power of attorney.
Your financial affairs.
These are not our areas of expertise, we can however, signpost you to those who do have expertise in these areas.
