Good use

With a Masters degree in Social Work achieved in her native India, Emilin Roy is now putting her education and experience to good use as a Care Assistant with Caremark Wakefield.

Emilin started working for Caremark on an overseas sponsorship in August 2023.

Fast forward 12 months later and she is doing an excellent job supporting our customers across Wakefield.

And she is hopefully about to become even more mobile because she is currently learning to drive and preparing for her practical test, having already passed the theory.

Emilin says: “I have family here in the UK and when the opportunity came along for the overseas sponsorship and having been a social worker in India, I was extremely interested in working for Caremark.

“As part of my social work I had a placement looking after old people in retirement homes, so it wasn’t completely new to me.

“It only took me around a week to adjust to providing care in people’s own homes and I thought wow, I really enjoy this.

“Our customers are so beautiful, and they have been lovely to me so my goal each time I visit is to ensure I leave them with a big smile on their face.”

As well as hoping to pass her driving test soon, Emilin has just celebrated another exciting event – getting married!
