Q: One memory in Home Care? Hearing all the great stories and compliments the team get from all of our clients. Knowing Caremark can help to improve the quality of client’s life when living at home is such a heart warming feeling.

Q: Do you prefer the Window or Aisle Seat on a bus/plane? Definitely a window seat. I enjoy watching the world go by but also a perfect seat to prop your head against the window for a quick nap! 

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? Visiting the Terracotta Warriors in China. It was incredible to see thousands of sculptures depicting an army which to date is still being unearthed. 

Q: My go to Pizza is… Deep Pan Pepperoni.

Q: What do you do outside of work? Playing sports with friends and family or constantly doing DIY at home.   

Q: One memory in Home Care? I get a lot of self satisfaction from when the team can assist organising a care package for a client. Home Care is never on somebodies mind until they really need it therefore anything small or big we can help with puts a smile on my face as I know with our help that client is at home safe.

Q: Do you prefer the Window or Aisle Seat on a bus/plane? A window seat on a plane as I feel take off and landing is easier to handle if you can see it about to happen.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I have done two things so far! One was a Sky Dive which was exhilarating and would have gone straight up again if I had the opportunity. The other was travelling around South America for six months as it was such a brilliant experience to experience new cultures.

Q: My go to Pizza is… Meat Feast with BBQ sauce.

Q: What do you do outside of work? I love to go for dog walks, spend time with family and enjoy going swimming or the gym with my son. 

Q: One memory in Home Care? I was able to organise and facilitate going into London with a Client. They wanted to revisit some of the places her and her husband would go to when they were first married. When we got there she was amazed at how busy it had become but also how much it changed. She was so grateful for the trip as she did not think it was possible.

Q: Tea or Coffee? Depends on the time of the day. I love my morning coffee and in the afternoon a tea.

Q: Do you prefer the Window or Aisle Seat on a bus/plane? Aisle for a short flight but window for long haul so I get to see spectacular views. 

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I travelled by car with my partner and dog from Portugal to Lithuania. It was a long trip but got to stop off and see some amazing views and experience some unforgettable moments with them both.    

Q: My go to Pizza is… Hawaiian pizza with few extra toppings

Q: What do you do outside of work? I am a very creative person and love anything to do with arts and crafts and also love taking photos of people and wonderful scenery. Currently I am into making things out of resin. 

Q: One memory in Home Care? I began working at Caremark as a Live in Carer and looked after one client for quite a few years. During this time, I built a great rapport and friendship with them therefore it is very difficult to choose just one memory but I know that the many tasks I did over those year’s made this individual’s life much easier and happier while living in their own home.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I have done a few road trips around America but my favourite has been when travelled around the West Coast by car where I got to see some amazing sights.   

Q: My go to Pizza is… Garden Party with a garlic dip.

Q: What do you do outside of work? I spend time with my three children and enjoy listening to music or going to concerts or festivals with them. I am also an avid twitcher (Birdwatcher).

Q: One memory in Home Care? I love to make a positive difference to a client’s life during a difficult time when they are needing care, whether it is having a laugh and joke with them or making their day to day task’s a little easier. These are the memories I cherish when I think about care in your own home.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I want to see and do lots of things! One of them would be to go on a hot air balloon ride. 

Q: My go to Pizza is… Ham and Mushroom. 

Q: What do you do outside of work? Going for a walks and swimming but also enjoy spending time with my niece and nephew.  

Q: One memory in Home Care? As a Live In Coordinator, I am able to meet lots of clients and help find appropriate Live in Carers for their needs. Many clients get anxious about having a carer live with them to help assist them everyday but by helping them pick the right Carer and regularly visiting them to see how they are getting one gives me joy to see they are being looked after well.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I have lots to tick to off starting with a hot air balloon ride.

Q: My go to Pizza is… Beef Sizzler.

Q: What do you do outside of work? I am a member of the King’s Church in Wokingham and offer my time to help support them with any communications they need to send out. 

Q: One memory in Home Care?  My first client as a Care Assistant. They were very particular in what they wanted and who they liked. I was able to build a great rapport with them just after a few visits. The client even gave me a Christmas Card which was unheard of!

Q: What do you do outside of work? I love spending time with my family and gardening when the weather permits. 

Q: One memory in Home Care? In all the years I have worked in Care, I have many memories that I look fondly back on. My underlining drive has always been to make a difference and to enable not disable.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I have done a few things in life but one I thing I would love to do is take my Grandson to where I was born and show him our family farm and spend time by the sea. 

Q: My go to Pizza is… Veggie Volcano. 

Q: What do you do outside of work? I love reading and gardening. I also like relaxing and spending time with my mum and grandson.  

Q: One memory in Home Care?  I made a great connection with a client who I used to see every morning for a few years. She lived alone and reminded me of my mum. I enjoyed seeing her as she would always have the widest smile whenever I opened her front door. She made me feel special which I will never forgot.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? Visiting Turkey. It was an exciting trip as I had to step outside my comfort zone but created lasting memories.

Q: What do you do outside of work? I love to explore different cultures and food so on my day’s off I enjoy trying new restaurants and savour their local dishes. 

Q: One memory in Home Care? Finding satisfaction in supporting clients to remain independent in their own home with quality care and compassion.

Q: Tea or Coffee? I like both. Usually I have a cup of coffee in the morning and then green tea throughout the day.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? I recently checked off something on my bucket which was a guided night walk through the Blackwood Forest where I got to see various animals in their habitat at night. We used a range of equipment to track and observe them which was incredible to see first hand. My aim is to do more with my son when he gets older.  

Q: My go to Pizza is… Any type of BBQ. 

Q: What do you do outside of work? I have a young son and most of my time outside work is spending it with him. As well as this, I am an avid reader and enjoy fantasy or historical books.    

Q: One memory in Home Care? My most recent memory was looking after a lady who needed rehabilitation care. When I cared for her, we would often chat about her youth and family. Over the short time, as she was getting better, we had built a great professional rapport. During the last visit, she gave me a delicate hand-knitted scarf which she had secretly been working on during her recovery. During our chats, we often talked about me needing a scarf as it was cold outside but I never got around to buying one. This was a simple yet touching gesture which reminded me why I love this job.

Q: Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it? To chase deer when my mum let’s me loose.

Q: One memory in Home Care? Every Wednesday when I get to come to the Caremark office as I get to meet all the Care Assistants and Clients.
